Traditional 'Hammer' Laying
The typical characteristic of the Dutch moulded paving brick has led to a different method of laying the pavers, which is called 'hammer' laying. The roadman kneels in the bedding course itself, rather than working from the ready surface and bending forward. He places each paver individually, leaving it slightly raised, and hammers it it into place. This guarantees the best possible stability, levelling out the profile of the paving surface.
