Laying Pavers

According to the 'laying down' method, the pavers are laid working from the ready paving on the levelled bedding course. The pavers should be laid in the design pattern with only a few millimetres joint widths working from an existing laying face edge or edge restraint wherever possible. The area to be laid is completed as far as possible in entire pavers, and then the trimmed pavers are included.

Where herringbone pattern is to be used, the 'nose' of pavers should be advanced over the area along a string line. When running bond is used, the pavers are generally laid so that their long axis is at right angles to the direction of the traffic flow.

For trimming, it is recommended that pieces smaller than 1/2 of a brick are not used and angles are cut no sharper than 45.
