Design Pattern
There are standard patterns for paving, as well as special patterns for ornamental paving for all types and also patterns that combine clay pavers with other materials.
The standard patterns are:
- Running Bond: This is characterised by very little trimming and can be laid quickly. But it has a tendency of creeping along the direction of traffic, so the paving can end up rolling.
- Herringbone Bond: This is a two-directional pattern that gives the best translational and rotational restraint to individual rectangular paving units. It suitable for large trafficked areas such as squares.
- Diagonal Herringbone Bond (Twill bond) is laid 45� to the paving units and is suitable for large trafficked areas such as squares.
