Clay Pavers
When choosing the specifications for clay pavers, the required properties should be agreed between the purchaser and the supplier. According to BS 6677, they are classified into two types, designated Type PA (suitable for pedestrians and light vans) and PB (suitable for public transport and commercial road vehicles). In the near future, this standard will be replaced by a European Standard EN 1344 which sets its own specifications.
The principal properties are as follows:
- Dimensions and tolerances
- Transverse strength
- Skid resistance
- Frost resistance
The supplier's specification can be provided by the manufacturer or supported by a Certificate from an approved body.
