Bedding Course
The bedding course is a relatively thin layer of sand, normally about 50mm, upon which the pavers are laid. The sub-base beneath the bedding course should be structurally sound and true to line and level. The material used for the bedding is naturally occurring sand or crushed rock fines, with no more than 3% of its mass consisting of clay, silt and fine dust, in a composition that passes 90% through the 5mm BS sieve.
