Preparing for Bricklaying
For large projects, it is worth putting together a reference panel, or sample section of wall purpose built away from the main construction, to establish design requirements such as mortar colour or special shapes and a required level of workmanship. It is also useful for setting an acceptable level of minor surface blemishes for bricks when they arrive on site. Use bricks randomly sampled and build the panel in close proximity to the site for easy comparison.
