Prepare for Storage of Materials
Bricks: Provide a firm, level base so that bricks are not in contact with the soil or sulphate bearing clinker or ashes, nor exposed to splashing by vehicles or mortar mixing.
Sands: Provide a means of keeping different types of sand separate and uncontaminated by other building materials, mud or oil.
Bags of Cement and Lime: Provide a means of keeping them off the ground, protected from rain and positioned so that the earliest deliveries can be used first before they begin to deteriorate.
Ready Mixed Lime/Sand: Make provision for protecting it from contamination by other materials and from erosion by rain and other inclement weather.
Containers For Ready-To-Use Retarded Mortars: Containers should have covers to protect the mortar from rain or rapid drying. Provision should be made for them to be covered securely.
